If you are old enough, you could have watched the Olympics performed in the nude. Yup, back in 776BC the Olympics were performed in the nude. In fact, “gymnasium” originates from the Greek word gymnos which means naked. So a gymnasium should be a big old room full of naked people. Who knew?
Princeton University had their very own Nude Olympics which took place the night of the first snowfall each year; students streaked the campus. The female participants found the weather extremely nippy while their male counter-parts had to perform under extreme shrinkage conditions.
It’s hard to believe that nudity in the United States is still considered taboo or shameful when so many of their institutions of higher learning have a glorious history of nude events.
